Could Eating Lots Of Berries Cause Blood In Stool?
I had a lot of what looked like red blood in the stool last week, two days in a row. I ve been to the doc and they want to do a colonoscopy. I just remember though that I ate a lot of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries for three days in a row before that. Could that have caused the red rather than blood? Should I go ahead with the colonoscopy?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. The fruits may not have any relation with the red color of the stools. If so also may not prolong for 2 days.It may be colitis, probably amebic Colonoscopy is not a cumbersome process, and it eliminates any pathology in the colon. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms injection amikacin 500mg,ofloxacin, ornidazole, ranitidine , and lactic acid bacilli. wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
