Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have given econorm to my 10 yr daughter as prescribed by her doctor for stomach ache . She was given yesterday night 9.30 pm , today morning she complained of stomach pain and brought out (vomited ) her breakfast and lunch in viscous dough like substance at 6.0 pm today Does econorm have any such reactions ??
Yes, the side effect of econorm is nausea and vomiting. Stomach ache and vomiting can occur due to indigestion, food allergy / food poisoning, liver dysfunction or acid reflux. You are suggested to give her anti emetics and once the vomiting stops, keep her well hydrated. Give water, juice, ORS or some warm beverage.
You are suggested to visit ER, get her clinically examined. She may need some urgent medical aid and intravenous drip. Get her urinalysis and blood tests done. In the meantime, you can give her antacids & antispasmodic for relief.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
