Could Evening Flatulence, Nausea, Occasional Vomiting, And Fatigue Be Related To My GAD Or Something Else?

Hi there. I have pretty bad gas and nausea just about every evening. A few times (separated by weeks or months) I have had these symptoms and then vomited a while. I also suffer fatigue and a general lack of motivation as a result. I have GAD diagnosis for years but haven t been having as much anxiety, or so I thought, for a year or so and my stomach has gotten worse. Please help.

Hello,

Since you have a history of GAD, it can trigger symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Anxiety can affect your gut by increasing gas production (leading to flatulence), slowing down digestion, or causing a sensation of nausea. These effects may worsen in the evening when the body's natural rhythm may slow down.

Anxiety is exhausting, both mentally and physically. Constant worrying and the physical strain of anxiety can lead to fatigue. Stay away from stress and anxiety. Just relax and you will be better. I can understand your lack of motivation and anxiety-driven fatigue.

Avoid stress both physical and mental. Take fresh food that is home made, avoid taking processed and packaged food. Take fiber rich food and avoid constipation. Take antacids / PPIs if you feel bloated. Avoid sedentary lifestyle and do regular walking and exercises to keep yourself motivated. Get treated for GAD, consult a Counsellor or psychiatrist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
