Could Glossy Patches On Forehead Be The Side Effect Of Using Brightening Creams?

Hi doctor..i am 30 years old and have a month to go for my wedding.. I went to a trichology expert and she suggested me to use a brightening cream and melalite on pigmented areas...does this have any side effects as I have noticed small glossy patches on my forehead. I am worried cant take a risk at this stage.
