I would keep a possibility of telogen effluvium. Telogen is the resting phase of hair growth cycle. Normally 90% of scalp hair follicles are in anagen phase (growing phase).
A stressful event like weight loss, medical illness like typhoid, malaria, Jaundice Or surgery can precipitate telogen effluvium. This phase is temporary and usually begin 2-3 months after the stressful event and may last for 6 months after the stressful event is removed.
Another possibility that I would like to keep in your case is of androgenetic alopecia, in which there is hormone dependent hair thinning and decreased hair density from the vertex and crown of the scalp. In early stages this type of hair loss manifests as widened part width followed by diffuse thinning in the crown and vertex part of the scalp.
I would advice that you see a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis and appropriate treatment. While Biotin, Iron supplementation and High protein diet are usually advised for telogen effluvium, for androgenetic alopecia minoxidil and finasteride are acceptable remedies.
