Hi i started my period about 5 days ago.and about 2days into my period i had unprotected sex. Now i am having large amounts of brown discharge-like blood. Could this be a sign of pregnancy?i know it is rare to get pregnant during your leriod but i jist thought i might ask anyway. It would help if you had some answers
Hi, Please do not worry about pregnancy, it is not possible during a period. The discharge you have been observing could be due to the tapering period and should disappear within a couple of days. There is a possibility of contracting infection if intercourse happens during menstruation as the vessels are open during that period and it is easy for any infection to enter the body. Please maintain genital hygiene and see a specialist if your spotting does not subside or if you do not see your period next cycle. Hope this helps.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. The chances of pregnancy are rare in your case. You should consult a gynaecologist for ultrasonography to rule out the cause. Good luck. Regards Dr. Richa
