Could Inhaling Clorox And Chemical Fumes Lead To Cough And Red Eyes?

I inhaled some clorox and spic/span fumes last night while cleaning my carpet. I started coughing heavily and had watery/blood shot eyes. I stopped cleaning and turned the A/C on and moved to another room. Today I m still coughing. Should I inhale steam to help my lungs? What can I do to stop this cough?

hi there thanks for asking for this on HCM, CLOROX MAINLY consist of sodium hypochlorite which will cause irritation to your eyes and pharyngeal mucosa this has caused redness of your eyes and cough. it is better to avoid these irritants in future or use a mask or tie a scarf around your face while using these chemicals for cleaning cause sometimes it might cause asthma like symptoms. the cough you have now will subside soon it is present due to the irritated mucosa. you can take benadryl for it now.
