Greetings of the day

Your doctors are possibly right, its likely to be fungal infection which is usually caused by candida.
Keeping the area clean and dry, good personal hygeine and dusting powder containing Clotrimazole which is an antifungal agent will be beneficial.

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life
