Could Licking Of WIC Check Be Associated With Numbness And Burning Sensation In Lips And Tongue?

I was feeling fine and then right before lunch, my tongue and lip went numb with a burning sensation. It started in just the corner of the left side and I have a strange taste in the back of my throat. I have brushed my teeth and washed my mouth out with peroxide and it doesn't seem to be as bad.
This started at work and I work with WIC checks and I thought maybe I got something off of one of them. It happened after I had licked my fingers to grab a check.

Hello, thank you for consulting with healthcaremagic.
As such wic checks does not cause these kind of symptoms, but it can be possible that there must be some chemical on the check which is causing this allergic reaction.
I think you should visit your GP as it can cause another problem.
Hope it will help you.
