Could Mass On The Head Of Pancreas With Vascular Encasement Be Cancerous?
My Mother has a mass on the head of the pancreas with vascular encasement. they recently put a stent in to relieve pressure from the bile duct. they have conducted 3 different biopsy procedures that with resulted in not enough samples of the tissue to evaluate. what are the chances it is not cancerous? I also had to place her in the hospital again due to her stomach becoming distended again and jaundice. Her pain has increased. The fluid they were able to draw was returned with negative results for cancer.
dear approximately 75% of all pancreatic carcinomas occur within the head or neck of the pancreas, 15-20% occur in the body of the pancreas, and 5-10% occur in the tail. See the image below.bit we confirmly won't say until complete pathological examination.or helical CT abdomen or ercp to done. please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
