Could Missed Periods With Spotting Be Connected To Diagnosed Inflammed Kidney Or Bladder?

My name is Stacey, I haven't had my period since the 18th of December 2013, and I have recently took a home test and it was negative, but the last 3 weeks I have been spotting every now and then, so far about 4 different times, and they haven't lasted that long, not enough to fill a liner. But just the other night I started spotting again, but this time a jelly of blood came out not a big one just the size of a pea, and then another but about half the size, and I am still spotting for a second day.

About a month ago I went to the hospital to see what was wrong with me, I had excruciating pain on my right side that after a day or 2 moved to my hole mid section, they said I had low white cell count and that my bladder or kidney was infected (inflamed) I was wondering if that adds on to what's happening to me now.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about menstrual difficulties. My thinking is that these spotting most likely represent your menses. Why the change is difficult but many women have this in their reproductive years. Monitoring would let us know whether this is a problem that needs extra aggressive measures or transient changes of no pathological significance. It would be rare for this to have been caused by a problem with urine or the colon.

In all, stay calm and monitor this for another cycle before seeking for more medical attention.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
