Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Moisture And Mold In The House Be Responsible For Illness?
I've been getting sick a lot since I've been living this apartment, just recently found mold and moisture build up around the air conditioning unit, under the kitchen sink and possibly in a leak on my ceiling where rain drips through sometimes... is it possible that that could be the cause of my illness?
Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic, Your question doesn't give details on the symptoms you are having. If it is an upper respiratory tract infection, then let me say moulds and its spores are notorious and common agents causing allergy. You will have repeated attacks of itching nose, sneezing, dry cough, rash followed by secondary infection causing fever and productive cough. If this is the situation then the best step is to avoid exposure to the allergen. Please provide more details on your symptoms and any previous history on allergy. Do reply. Thank you.
