Could My Blackout Spells Be Caused By The Medications Prescribed For Seizures, Given That I Had No Issues When Not On Medication?

I ve had blackout spells the past (21 Years) The doctors I ve been going to have said are seizures, But none of the seizure medicine they ve had me on has worked to control any of them. Could it be any of the medications they have me on causing the blackout spells? There were (Many Years) I was on (No medicine) & under control 100% 100% of the time.

Hi,

You need to get your radiological investigations done to confirm your diagnosis. An EEG would confirm whether it is a seizure or not.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Grace, General & Family Physician
