Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 22 year old female with chronic swollen lymph nodes only on my left side, which then leads to ear pain and jaw pain. I had my tonsils taken out a little over two years ago because of chronic tonsillitis. I had blood work and the only thing that came up was that my liver enzymes were really high, they were 250. I had tests done on my live and everything came back to normal. Could my liver an lymph nodes be linked?
Enzyme values of 250 are not at all a matter of concern, and do to indicate any disease condition. In liver disease, the values will be above thousands. The swollen lymph nodes not linked with liver, and it could be due to infection or inflammation at the other sites. Look for any dental cavities or sore throat which are the common cause for swollen nodes in the neck. You can start on a short course of antibiotics, like most cases, the nodes will respond well with antibiotic therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain
