Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of trapped gas, heartburn, or indigestion due to ulcer. Most cases of left-sided abdominal pain are short-lived. Take antacids, twice daily or PPIs, one daily for 5 days. It will give you relieve from your symptoms. Include fiber in your diet. Avoid constipation. Take water and fluids adequately. Take laxatives at bedtime to avoid formation of gas.

Take well-cooked homemade food to avoid indigestion. Do not take processed or packaged food. Do not take fried food, oily food, fast food, etc. Since the left side of abdomen also contains pancreas, left kidney, and part of colon, such symptoms can also occur due to ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, IBS, UTI, left kidney stone, ovulation pain, left ovarian cyst, menstrual cramps etc., apart from peptic ulcer.

You are advised to get clinically examined by a GP, get CBC, Urinalysis (R/E & C/S), USG, & other required imaging tests to help diagnose the cause of the symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
