Could Nil Period Signs Be Due To A Pregnancy?

The first day of My last period was 41 days ago on July 14. I took clomid on days 2-6. Ovulation kit said that I was ovulating on August 4, day 22. Hpt are all negative and no signs of a period. Why is this? If I ovulated should I expect my period? Could I still be preg?

Hi,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Ovulation tests predict only the LH surge that occurs prior to ovulation and not the actual process of ovulation. Recording of basal body temperature from day one of the cycle is a cheaper and better method. In this, ovulation is indicated by a rise in temperature and this rise persists if conception has occurred making it the earliest evidence to detect pregnancy. In your situation, a sonogram can be performed to see if there is evidence of any ovulation and if negative, a period may be induced. If you wish to be definite about exclusion of pregnancy, you can go for the blood test which is more specific and sensitive. Hope this helps.
