Could Pain And Discomfort In The Area Of Right Kidney Indicate Renal Cell Carcinoma?

hi dr. rynne, my sister passed away from renal cell carcinoma. can that be genetic? for several months, i ve been having a pain/ache/discomfort (varies depending on what i m doing) in the area of my right kidney (i think) that was the first symptom my sister had when she was diagnosed with stage 4. i don t have insurance, so i don t want to get tests that aren t necessary. it s ok, if you re not comfortable or able to answer this question without more information. i m just wondering... thanks, diane carey

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have some kidney disorder. It is not due to cancer always. There are many other causes. Stones or infection can also leads to same. Or you may have some muscular problems. You should go for ultrasound abdomen. It will give you exact idea regarding the cause. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
