Could Pain During Sex Be Due To Torn Ligament Or Muscle Inside Vaginal Wall?
My doctor told me I have had pain during sex due to a possible torn ligament or muscle on the inside wall of my vagina. Possible Skelton issue? She recommended me to a physical therapist. I would like to research this a little more but cannot seem like find anything about this on line.
Hi, Pain during intercourse or 'Dyspareunia', has several causes- psychosomatic, narrow vaginal introitus or opening, tears over the vulva or vagina, vaginitis, cervical lesions, ovarian cysts, prolapsed ovaries, tubal or uterine infections etc. To know the exact cause, you need a thorough investigation including a clinical exam, vaginal swab, cervical swab and a pap smear, trans-vaginal sonogram, blood counts and urinalysis. I would ask you to see a specialist for further management. Physiotherapy without knowing the actual cause can do harm. Hope this helps.
