Could Persistent Cough With Phlegm Be Due To The Usage Of Humidified CPAP?

I m a 63 year old woman, with a persistent cough producing phlegm most of the time. Had chest Xray which was clear. I am curious about my use of my humidified CPAP at night. I have reads some stories that people have had some problems with this equipment usage. I ve been on the CPAP for about 2 years, but I can not seem to beat this condition.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it is related to the CPAP machine, you should discuss this possibility with your doctor.

Other causes of persistent wet cough would be a post nasal drip. This is one of the most common causes of chronic cough.
This is treated with topical steroid nasal sprays and oral antihistamines.

I hope this helps
