Could Severe Acne Be Due To Low Hemoglobin Or Hypothyroidism?
Hi, I am saba and i am 22 years old. My height is 4.11 feet and weight is 60 Kg. i am a patient of Hypothyroidism since my childhood. My hemoglobin level is low. I am suffering from excessive acne's since 3- 4 month. Is this because of my low hemoglobin or hypothyroidism?
As per your query you have symptoms of severe acne on face which occur when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with dead skin cells. Sometimes bacteria get trapped inside the pore, too, causing the area to become red and swollen. Well it could be due to low level of thyroid and hemoglobin in your body. You should get your hormone levels monitored. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.
