Could Severe Pain In Hips After A Fall Be Onset Of Arthritis?

I am 47 yrs old, 5 6 and 180 lbs. I fell off of my horse last July. I landed on my right hip and arm. I was in an indoor riding arena but when I landed, my hip hit the concrete aisle. I literally felt my bones kind of shift at impact. I got the wind knocked out of me but was able to get back on. The next day, it was my left hip, not my right one, that hurt. The pain eventually went away; until about 3 weeks ago. If I sit in one position too long, or if I wear high heels, both hips hurt. I seem to also have lost some strength as I struggle to stand, if sitting on the floor. I literally need to pull myself up on whatever is next to me. I sometimes wake up at night because of hip pain. Is it possible that arthritis may have begun to develop? I have not gone to the Dr yet.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
There is every possibility of developing early arthritis considering your case and one investigation that can early diagnose arthritis is MRI. So I would advise mri of right hip to confirm the diagnosis. Visit nearby radiology center for this and get it done. Meanwhile avoid squatting and cross legged position. Start tab diclofenac 50mg twice a day for pain relief. Consult expert hip surgeon with report.
