Could Severe Thirst Be Due To Diabetes?

Hi my 27 year old son is always very thirsty. He is physically active and not overweight. Both his grandmothers had type 2 diabetes and his aunt on his dad s side has type 1. He knows he needs to get blood work done but thinks it could be type 2. Is it a strong possibility?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam i can understand your concern
in my opinion excessive thirst alone can not be taken into consideration
the symptoms of diabetes are

1.increase urination
2.loss of weight
3.increased hunger
4.increased frequency of infections

In case you are observing any of above features, i suggest you to do some blood like fasting blood sugar and hab1%

Take advice of your local doctor.
Best Regards
