Could Smoking Cause Burning Sensation In Throat In The Mornings?

I am suffering from burning sensation in the early morning every day. It is below 2 to 3 inches from the throat. Now a days it is severe. I am a smoker for the past 35 years. I am fearing of cancer in lungs/throat, or any type of ulcers. Is there any medicine for this ?. Is it serious..?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Here you can have smoking induce bronchitis or laryngitis or chronic esophagitis....

Respiratory and throat examination done...
Look for any ulcer or inflammation...

Chest x ray done for bronchitis if needed.

For few days take soft and bland diet...
Avoid excess spicy food...
Avoid excess fried food for few days...
More water...
Try to avoid smoking....
If inflammation more short term steroid or antihistaminic drug needed.

You are smoking since 35 year.
Chance malignancy is there ...
Chest x ray for growth and sputum examination might helpful....

Regular follow up needed.
You can attend rehabilitation program to quit smoking....

Take care.
