i have a sore throat but only when I swallow, and there are red bumps on the back of my tongue. I also have a stuffy nose and bright green mucus. I feel tired most of the time and I never want to get up in the morning. do you think this is strep? and would a z-pack help? or what can I do to get better

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you are having upper respiratory tract infection and needs medical management.

I would advise that you should get a throat swab culture done and start antibiotic according to the reports of the culture/sensitivity of the sample.
It will also help in knowing the causative organism.

Z-pack is usually effective in the upper respiratory tract infection.
You should also take an antihistamine like fexofenadine 120 mg along with a decongestant like phenylepherine.

Gargles with warm saline water will have an added beneficial effect.
Avoid cold and spicy and sour foods.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
