Could Spreading Rash On Face Be Due To Intake Of Antibiotics Or Vicks?

I HAVE A 5 YR OLD WHO HAS HAD A COUGH FOR A MONTH BEEN ON TWO DIFFERENT ANTI BIOTICS, PREDNISOLONE, INHALER (XEOPONEX) AND STILL HAS COUGH. WE RUBBED VICKS ON HER CHEST AND UNDER NOSE AND ON FEET AND THIS MORNING THE WOKE WITH RASH ON FACE AND AS DAY WENT ON RASH HAS SPREAD TO CHEST AND STOMACH, DO YOU THINK IT IS FROM THE VICKS OR MAYBE A SENSITIVITY OF LIGHT OR SUN FROM ONE OF HER MEDS?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if the rashes have occured after application of Vicks it can be due to allergic reaction to it while it can also be due to allergic reaction to antibiotics ..
As the rash is spreading you should take care of it and should stop giving him antibiotics as well as avoid applying Vicks..
You can consult his treating Paediatrician and get evaluated so that he can do a clinical evaluation and can also advise allergic test to confirm the allergic reaction..
In case if it is due to allergic reaction, anti allergics like Benadryl or Levocetrizine can be advised..
You can do cool compresses over the rashes..
Apply Calamine lotion as it will soothe the skin..
