Could Swallowing Blood From A Recent Tooth Extraction Affect The Results Of A Urine Test That Showed Blood In The Urine?
I recently had a urine test which indicated that there was some blood in my urine. I have never seen any bold in my urine. My question is: about 3 hours before I had my urine test I had a tooth extracted. Since I was bleeding I imagine I might of swallowed some blood. Could that have affected the urine test? I have going back in for a secondary test. Thanks
The blood you swallow is not directly distributed in the body. Rather it is broken into its components, before absorption. Hence, swallowing of blood can not be a reason for presence of blood in the urine.
