Hi,
Butran patch (
Buprenorphine) is an opioid pain relieving medication prescribed for the treatment of
severe pain. Its most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, itching and redness at the site of application of the patch, dry mouth, and
constipation. It is unlikely to cause swollen ankles and hands or retention of body fluids.
It may be due to heart problems, kidney or liver disease,
thyroid disease or anemia. You are advised to consult a physician for proper clinical examination and certain lab tests such as CBC, ESR, kidney function tests, liver function tests, urine examination,
thyroid function tests to rule out any possible underlying cause.Hope the advice given above would be useful in detecting the actual cause and its appropriate treatment. A feedback is appreciated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
