Could Swollen Vagina Endanger My Foetus?

I m in my 24 week pregnancy and has been constipated since beginning. Today my stool is especially dry. When I try to poop, the stool seems stuck at anus and could not come out. I sat on toilet bowl for almost 3 hrs to finally force it out. However I found my vagina is severely swollen. May I know if this swollen would endanger my foetus?

Welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Many women experience constipation at some point in time during pregnancy. It is mainly due to the action of progesterone hormone. The swollen vagina will not cause any harm to the foetus.
In order to improve your constipation.
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Eat a diet high in fibers such as plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals.
3. Walk around and do little home activities.
Your constipation will gradually improve.
Hope that answers your question.
Regards, Dr.Imaad.
