Could Taking Topamax 100mlg Cause Hair Fall?

I am on Topamax 100mlg a day for migrains and my hair is falling out ..I have talked to my doctor and he told me it shouldn t do that ..but it is a side effect....is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening so I don t have to stop taking these meds

Dear friend, Topiramate is a good drug but it does cause hair loss,weight loss,renal stone,raised intraocular pressure(specially among glaucoma patients) and also few other metabolic side effects.Some people say that using vit B might decrease the hairfall.You can try it but I have not found it much helpful in few patients.You can talk with your dermatologist for any other option regarding the hairloss.And if there is no much help then consult your physician to think of some other drug than topiramate.Hope I am able to clear your doubt.Good luck.
