Could The Adalant Be Causing Warmth In Legs, Swelling And Redness In The Skin?
I am female, 29 yrs old with high blood pressure and overweight but otherwise good health. I have been on Adalant for a few weeks. randomly my legs feel hot to the touch, swollen, and pink. This affects my feet too. It doesnt hurt but the warmth and tightness are annoying. Could it be the Adalant?
Dear Patient, I totally understand your concerns about your health. I suppose the medication you are taking is Adalat (not adalant). This is a calcium channel blocker used for the treatment of hypertension, The symptoms you are describing are typical of this medication.
The following are the side effects of adalat : warmth, redness, or tingly feeling under your skin; headache, dizziness; drowsiness, tired feeling; nausea, diarrhea mild constipation or stomach pain; sleep problems (insomnia); mild rash or itching; joint pain, leg cramps; urinating more than usual.
So the answer to your question is : Yes this sensation is a side effect of this medication. If you cannot tolerate these symptoms then you must be shifted to other types of anti-hypertensive drugs, such as thiazide or ACE inhibitors or ARBs and find the medication that suites you.
Best Regards
