Could The Bruising And Swelling Of The Testicles After Hernia Be Serious?
i had bilateral hernia surgery last Tuesday and now my testicles are not only swollen but almost black with bruising. My testicular pain and discomfort is much worse than from the incisions. Is the bruising so serious that I should go to an emergency room?
Hello Thanks for your query. You have bruising and swelling of both the testicles after surgery of Bilateral Inguinal Hernia.
The swelling of the testicles is common after hernia surgery but the bruising needs to be taken seriously .It could be due to haematoma in scrotal sac,
Please consult your operating surgeon and get ultrasound scannind of the scrotum done to rule out presence of blood clots in scrotum.
If turns out to be positive you may need to drain the haematoma.
You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily. Dr.Patil.
