Welcome to Healthcare Magic! Your problem seems to be rather serious.
The placenta partially separated from the
uterus leading to bleeding is not a good sign. Usually such problem arises not so early in the
pregnancy. To continue pregnancy for further 23 weeks of gestation is like sitting on a volcano for a long time. It is quite a long period. Every day there is risk of bleeding. You should ask the doctor what is the distance between the inner opening of uterus and the inferior edge of placenta.
Since this bleeding is not dependant upon the physical activities, I have got a doubt how much
bed rest is going to prevent the bleeding. The bleeding takes place due to separation of the placenta, which takes place due to the uterine activities - contractions and retraction - which is a continuous process throughout the pregnancy. This activity separates a placental part which is in the lower part of the uterus.
Please ask your doctor the diagnosis of the condition. Does he indicate this as Placenta praevia?
If you decide to continue the pregnancy, please keep the blood readily available in the
blood bank. Have you got her Rh
blood group typing done? It will play a major role in your decision and management of pregnancy.
Please discuss all these possibilities with your Obstetrician before you take any decision. Try to understand the risk to the life to the pregnant woman from the Obstetrician.
The dictum in Obstetrics is Save the life of the Mother first, she can become pregnant again.
I would appreciate if you share with me the information I have asked for by direct question so that I can get a complete feel of the case and give you still clear and better advice.
Please do not be emotional and take your decision based on the scientific facts and information.
