My wife was prescribed clindamycin (hope that s correct) for what she calls vaginitis. She took it for 2 days and stopped taking it because she felt better. She says she was prescribed it for inflammation, and that now that she thinks her underwear from victorias secret could be the cause of the problem and is now going to finish the dosage. Could this be a(n) STD that she is not telling me about. I dont have any issues as of yet but id like to protect myself if i can. She keeps stressing to me that we can have sex...... Should i go get checked, and should i get checked for BV as well......?
Vaginitis is not always due to std cause. It can be due to various other reasons like allergy or irritation to some external application, certain drugs like oral Contraceptives, Antibiotics, hormones and uncontrolled diabetes etc. Examination and investigation on the vaginal fluid can reveal the exact cause whether it could be a STD or Non-STD.
