Could The Mass Around The C7 Area Be Due To Calcification Of Soft Tissue?

My sister s C7 area looks like she has a mass growing around that area. You see it a lot in people who don t have the best posture. It looks like her head is going forward and not up with a hump behind her neck to shoulder area. Is this a calcification of soft tissue? Is there anything she could do to correct it?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. The problem you are discussing about your sister' neck, probably is a deformation of vertebral column, called kyphosis. I recommend your sister plain radiographs of the neck and a consult with a orthopedic surgeon to identify the pathology and to discuss about the treatment. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
