Could The Pain Be Due To An Injury To The Esrratus Snterior Suscle?
3 months ago I was carrying a tall not heavy box between two counters, I twisted and felt a pulling sensation below my left shoulder blade. That night when I went to bed I sighed and felt a sharp pain in one rib adjacent to where I had felt the pull earlier that day, from then on I could only sleep on that side with support under the ribcage. I was still functional with pain killers until about 6 weeks ago when the pain became excruciating one night and went to the local hospital where an xray revealed pneumonia. I spent 3 weeks in hospital and had my lungs drained and my lungs seem to have cleared up but I still have the pain which is aggravated by lifting and sweeping anything that puts pressure on my left side. There is also a feeling of numbness around the ribs as if coming out of a local anaesthetic. Could this be due to an injury to the Serratus Anterior Muscle.
no your complaints are due to pleuritis which was due to pneumonia so injury should have have caused pain only on pushing against a wall but on sleeping pain is seen which rules out muscle injury so get done ultrasonography to see tendon status or else continue with physian medication
