Could The Pain In Joint Of The Finger Be Due To Cut?

Hi

I cut my middle finger (between the two joints) a couple of years ago and lately I rubbed the scar of the injury and realised it hurt a little. It doesn't hurt when I rub it now but one of the joints near the cut hurts, particulary when I wake up first thing in the morning. It feels like someone has hit the joint with a hammer. If I touch the joint it is painful but it doesn't really look swollen. Is this because of the cut suffered years ago? I was trying to open something with the knife and the tip slid and hit my finger extremely hard as I was pushing the knife very hard. It hurt so much I thought I may have stabbed my finger right to the bone. My finger felt tingly after the accident but was fine the next day.
