Could The Pain In The Lower Jaw I Associated With The Diet I Am Following?
I have been dieting (about 1300 cal/day) for about 2 weeks, and I have been experiencing pain in my lower face, particularly my lower jaw, sometimes aches. It feels like it s associated with hunger - in that the sensation makes me want to eat, as if that would ease or end the pain.
hi, Thanks for your query. I understand your concern. Well it would have been really helpfull if you had mentioned your age, height and weight . However considering that you are of average height and you weigh moderately , a diet of 1300 cal is a bit low ( even if you are planning to lose weight). In my opinion a good explanation for your jaw pain could be because of the crash diet you followed for 2 weeks. It could have reduced your calcium levels and could have caused weakness in the bones. I cannot say 2 weeks duration is sufficient to cause this but if your body already had less calcium reserves then your diet could have worsened it. Try and include calcium rich food in your diet like milk, cheese, citrus fruits, fish and such. Also consider calcium supplement tablets for 10-15 days (1 tablet per day) better if taken in the morning. Eat healthy and maintain a balanced diet. Get back to me if continues to bother you. wish you good health.
