Could The Pain On My Throat Indicate Throat Cancer?
Im 22, had a tonsillectomy in Dec 2012. I did not smoke during the healing period, but have been smoking after I recovered till now. I have a pain on the left part of my throat, I can feel a Bump inside like what I used to have when I had tonsils, and can see the uvula curved towards the left with a little redness. Has the tonsil relapsed?? or is it the first symptoms of throat cancer. smoking habits-- 8 yrs.
Hello, Thank you for the query. Mere pain in throat does not mean that it is cancer. You said you had undergone tonsillectomy so its not a relapse of tonsillitis. It can be just an upper respiratory tract infection that will also cause such symptoms and which can be treated very well using antibiotics. My suggestion is consult an ENT doctor nearby and he will will examine your throat properly to know better what it is . Secondly you must practice healthy habits and stop smoking as early as possible. Hope this helps.Take care. Thank you.
