Could The Physical Pain Cause Rise In The Blood Sugar Levels?
Thank you, Can constant physical pain cause a rise in blood sugar. I ve been diabetic for 7 plus years my readings were never over 100. Recently I had emergency surgery for a blocked artery in my leg i have had constant burning in my foot and a recent test showed it is blocked again. It is some kind of a clotting issue. But I;ve had readings as high as 600. With insulin and medication my readings are down but still to high 190 262, Could it be because of the pain I have had several medical professionals tell me it is the pain. Your thoughts please.
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Sir, The blood sugar levels you have mentioned are very high and with the medication they responded well. With some time allowed, they completely come under control.
Coming to the reason for such rise, the stress due to constant pain or due to surgery is the most probable cause. Stress in any form rises sugar levels beyond control.
Hope this guides you. Wishing you good health. Dr. Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
