Could The Red And Swollen Bite On Forehead Be The Cause Of Low Grade Fever?

My husband was jogging and felt something bite him on his forehead. It s been red and swollen and has since gone down but still red. It almost looks like a burn. Now black spots have appeared on the site. He s is also running a low grade fever and don t know if it s related and the fever just started a day ago and the black spots just appeared today. The bite or whatever took place last week.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Yes the bite at the site initiates inflammatory reaction leading to release of pyrogens in blood. The pyrogens are the cause of low grade fever. Still you should visit your doctor for clinical examination and if required he may order tests for him.
Take care.
