Could The Red Color In White Areas Of Eyes Indicate A Sign Of Low Platelets?
I have ITP. I was diagnosed about ten years ago. My platelets at times were as low as 1,000. I have never noticed petachia.Ten days ago my platelets were 42,000. The last two days my eyes have been very red in the white areas. Could this be a sign of low platelets?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having red spots on the whit part of the eye. These probably indicate subconjunctival hemorrhage. One of the cause for multiple subconjunctival hemorrhage are bleeding and clotting disorders including low platelet count. Since you are having ITP, idiopathic thrombocytooenic purpura with low platelet count it may be responsible for these multiple subconjunctival hemorrhaged in your case.
Thank you
