Could The Red Spots On The Legs Be Reaction To Medication?
My father has recently developed large red/ purplish spots on his legs. He is currently on prednisone and another perspcription for an irregular heartbeat. He is an alcoholic and rarely goes to the doctor. Could this be a reaction from meds and alcohol? It almost looks like bleeding under the skin. He claims it isn t painful, however two days later the spots looked like blisters.
From the available description it appears that he developed purpura which is common after the medication as well as during chronic abuse of alcohol. Although it is asymptomatic you are advised to see a doctor to get complete bloood count and it particular total number of platelets.
'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help". Thanks
