Could The Removal Of Lymphomas Take 5 Minutes?

hello dr. Samuel.....I need to have some lypomas removed but my provider declined my request...I went to see a surgeon and he wants way to much do perform a surgery that will take him 15 minutes...I have a post grad degree and I actually laughed right in front of the Dr. when he told me how much he wanted. I watched a utube video of a man taking one out on his thigh. It took him five minutes and cost him 30 bucks in equipment. Question- why do you guys charge so much for such a simple procedure? 1 lypoma 5 minutes The guy I spoke to wants $100 per minute...Are you laughing also or is that the going rate?

Hi

Removal of lymphoma requires minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as thoracoscopy or laparoscopy.

In the case of biopsies performed by laparoscopy or thoracoscopy, a portion of the tissue should be taken to pathology for frozen section analysis to confirm that the tissue removed is, indeed, diagnostic for an lymphoma.

It takes generally half an hour to remove lymphoma by thoracoscopy or laparoscopy.
