Could The Severe Explosive Diarrhea I Ve Had For Four Days Be Caused By Starting Warfarin Two Weeks Ago?
Explosive diarrhea now four days and ongoing Have to take warfarin for blood clot in leg… it is two weeks since starting it…and ongoing process to establish correct dosage. The severe diarrhea start in the second week of warfarin dosage. Could this cause the severe explosive diarrhea
Warfarin can cause certain gastrointestinal effects / symptoms. It can cause loose stools but since you are having explosive diarrhea, its unnatural. You are advised get clinically examined by a GP. Get Stool examination (R/E and C/S) done to detect infection. You will be treated accordingly.
You are advised to also consult your treating doctor who has prescribed you warfarin. To avoid dehydration, take water and fluids. Explosive diarrhea will get controlled by taking 3-4 raw bananas well boiled and mashed. Add a little salt to taste. You can take this 2-3 times a day. Taking anti-diarrheals are also helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
