Could The Swelling In The Upper Leg Of An Elderly Patient With GERD, Atrial Fibrillation, And Diabetes Be Related To Toprol And Magnesium Intake?

A patient has GERD, A Fib presents when GERD begins, usually 2:00 to 3:00 AM, when the stomach is empty. She is on 25mg Toprol bid. Also 400 mg Magnesium , bid. She also takes a number of other vitamins. Blood work is good. BP is good. Wgt 113 lbs. Age 79 . patient has mild form.of diabetes all controlled by diet.. Getting swelling in the upper leg area.

Swelling of the upper leg cannot be related to the two drugs mentioned in the question. Bed ridden status might be the cause of the swelling.
