Could The Trauma From Hitting On Head Trigger The Hair Loss?
i am a 21 year old female and I noticed a small bald spot on the top of my head a few weeks after I bumped it pretty hard. The spot has always has a small bump, but I was wondering if the trauma from my hitting it could trigger the hair loss? I have pretty thin hair, but it s not thinning, that I ve noticed.
Yes trauma can induce hair fall. If there is scarring of the hair follicle it can induce what is known as scarring alopecia. But the thinning of hair on the rest of the scalp cannot be attributed to trauma and may be a manifestation of androgenic alopecia. The scarring hair loss is difficult to treat. However the hair thinning on the rest of the scalp can be treated with topical minoxidil and multivitamin preparations containing biotin
