Hi,

Blood hCG test should be done to rule out pregnancy. Any history of hormonal pills intake during the previous weeks can cause similar symptoms as mentioned above. The cause of delayed period should be identified. Any pelvic causes should be ruled out with an ultrasound. Ovarian cyst may be present. Thyroid function and Blood hemoglobin should also be assessed.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
