Could The Vaginal Fibroid Cause Continuous Bleeding?

I have had continuous bleeding for nearly 12 mths, with intermittent prolific bleeding that makes it almost impossible to leave the house. According to a vaginal ultrasound I have a huge fibroid but no cancer, Could this be the reason for this condition?Of course I am very anaemic. Bronwyn
