Could The Weight Gain And Red Bumps On The Thighs Be Due To Antibiotics?
im 17, 5 8 and 110 pounds. i just used monistat day 1 for the first time. i am also taking antibiotics and i think that may have been the cause. today i just noticed red bumps on my upper thighs. they dont hurt and i didnt even notice them until i looked down.
Definitely antibiotic can cause rash, if you are allergic to the particular antibiotic. Still, Amoxicillin and Ampicillin cause rashes more often than others. If, you are having symptoms of rashes along with other symptoms of wheezing etc., then you should change your antibiotic under guidance of your doctor.
For persisting symptoms of rashes, antiallergic like cetirizine or disloratidine may be given. There is no conclusive study about weight gain with use of antibiotic. Hence, if there is substantial weight gain, then some other reason for this is to be looked for under guidance of your treating doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
