Could Tongue Discoloration Be Withdrawal Symptom Of Quitting Smoking?
hi my name is liam,i have recently giving up smoking up to 40 a day (2 weeks ago) and noticed my tongue was discolored over the last few days(yellowish). i scrubbed my tongue and got most of the color off....is this usual after giving up the smokes? thanks liam
You have already stopped smoking 14 days back. Nicotine withdrawal last for 5-10 days. So tongue discoloration appears due to some other reason.
Causes which can lead to tongue discoloration: -Smoking and tobacco use like in your case. It takes time for improvement in tongue color after smoking cessation. -Vitamin deficiency -Infection like oral candidiasis -Leucoplakia of oral cavity
So get evaluated by physician to rule out these problem, same time remain abstinent from smoking.
